Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MapOn mobile application ("App"). By installing or using MapOn, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MapOn. Users in some regions may be subject to higher age requirements set by their local laws or by Apple/Google.

2. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

3. Account & Authentication

Some features require signing in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

4.1 One-time purchases (regional map expansions)

MapOn offers one-time purchases for regional map content (e.g., expanding to additional countries). These are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Once delivered, one-time purchases are non-refundable except as required by law or by the platform's refund policy.

4.2 Subscriptions (auto-renewing)

MapOn may offer auto-renewing subscriptions. By subscribing, you agree:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
• Renewal is charged at the same rate within 24 hours before the period ends
• Subscriptions can be managed and auto-renewal turned off in your account settings (App Store / Play Store)
• No refund for the unused portion of a paid period (except where required by law)

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create in MapOn (diaries, photobooks, collages). By using cloud sync features, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the App's features.

You are responsible for the content you create. You agree not to use MapOn to create or share content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.

6. Privacy

Your use of MapOn is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
• Use the App in violation of any law or regulation
• Use automated tools to access or scrape the App
• Interfere with the App's operation or security
• Use the App in a way that infringes others' rights

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, logos, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.

National and regional boundaries and place names shown on maps within the App are for informational purposes only and do not express any political position or claim of territorial sovereignty. Boundary representations of disputed areas are based on publicly available geographic data (such as OpenStreetMap and GADM) and do not represent the position of any specific country or government.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the App.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or USD 50, whichever is greater).

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or for any other reason. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified within the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by applicable consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction. Disputes shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of your place of residence to the extent required by local law.

For users outside the European Economic Area, disputes may be resolved by binding arbitration as permitted by applicable law.

14. Apple App Store Specific Terms

If you obtained MapOn through the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:

• These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.
• Apple is not responsible for any product warranty claims.
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

15. Google Play Specific Terms

If you obtained MapOn through Google Play, your use is also subject to Google Play's Terms of Service.
